Home Video (the band) are living in brownstones in Brooklyn, having moved there from New Orleans previously.

I get tastes of Muse and Radiohead with this track, maybe even a little bit of the Midnight Juggernauts.

Unfortunately, Home Video isn’t going on a national (or international) tour any time soon, but if you live in New York or Montreal, you can see them play live soon.

In the meantime, they’re recording a new album. Let’s all hope the tracks from their latest work have similarities to this one.

The first and most popular single off their self titled debut album, which dropped in 2002, just a few years after these guys graduated high school.

Originally from Leeds, The Music has headlined sold out shows ever since, especially in the UK, where this album reached number 4 in the UK Billboard Top Ten.

They went through a short hiatus while singer and guitar player Robert Harvey dealt with his drug usage as a teen. He’s since dealt with those inner demons, and The Music is now back, releasing catchy progressive rock anthems, and rallying their avid followers in the UK. Good to see you back. Now, hope to see you in the US some day.

Everyone ready for stadium indie rock? (Cure crickets chirping) Didn’t think so. If indie rock was ever performed in front of 60K plus crowds though, Mew would be leading the charge with their dreamy, weaving melodies and harmonies. This jam, The Zookeeper’s Boy, also reads like an Indie Rock song.

Mew is the pride of Denmark, founded by four guys, Bo Madsen, Jonas Bjerre, Johan Worlert, and Silas Utke Graae Jorgensen. The latter is one person. Johan Worlert has recently left the band to spend more time with his girlfriend Pernille Rosendahl. Johan and Pernille may or may not have created a band called The Storm. The Storm had a MySpace page for one day, which was then taken down with no explanation.

Mew’s sound can be classified as progressive art rock. I think it sounds like a cross between Muse and The Midnight Juggernauts.
