Saul Williams – Sunday Bloody Sunday – U2 Cover
Singer, songwriter, poet, writer, actor, musician – Saul Williams moved to New York City in the mid-90s to pursue a graduate degree in acting from NYU and spent his time there perfecting his writing and performance skills.
Finding some success as an open mic performing artist, Williams also landed a lead role in the indie film Slam, released in 1998, which won the award for Grand Jury Prize for a Dramatic Film at the Sundance Film Festival. Williams did a bunch of the writing for Slam as well.
Since 2001, Saul Williams has been touring with Hip Hop and Rock heavyweights including Nas, The Fugees, Erykah Badu, Zack de la Rocha, The Mars Volta, and Nine Inch Nails. He is an open critic of the Iraq War as well as a critic of the Bush administration, and he has voiced his opinions during speaking appearances at major schools and universities.
