Figured it was time to get back to some indie rock jams on this blog.
Believe it or not, the band’s name is a play on words. They’re referring to the 80’s TV show BJ the Bear. If you minus-the-bear from this TV show, you get…AJ? no… CJ? not quite…
Minus the Bear’s original lineup is intact except for former keyboardist and button presser Matt Bayles who Bayle-d the band to pursue a career as a producer.
Like a number of indie rock bands these days, Minus the Bear fuses electronic and keyboard sounds on top of plush guitar licks. I like their syncopated rhythms personally, especially evident with this track.
