David Byrne and Brian Eno - Strange Overtones
David Byrne has been making music for over a quarter of a century, most notoriously with the Talking Heads, with which he was a member from 1974 till 1991. During his time with the Talking Heads, David Byrne also pursued a few small side projects, including an album he created with Brian Eno in 1981 My Life in the Bush of Ghosts.
Born in Scotland, David Byrne then moved to Canada when he was 9 years old. He went to the Rhode Island School of Design for a year before dropping out to form the Talking Heads with a few of his classmates.
Since leaving the Talking Heads in 1991, David Byrne has written music for films, operas, and online projects. He has also created visual art and has displayed his art anonymously in prominent American art galleries. Somewhat related, David Byrne designed a number of Bike Racks for New York City, called David Byrne Bike Racks.
Brian Eno first became famous while playing keyboards for the 1970s art rock group Roxy Music. He then started releasing solo albums and producing mainstream records, most notably The Joshua Tree for U2 and Viva La Vida for Coldplay, which was released earlier this year.
Brian Eno, like David Byrne, is a former art school student. He also writes a newspaper column in The Observer.
I think its fair to say that both David Byrne and Brian Eno are two of the most influential minds in popular music from the last 30 years. Read more about them on Wikipedia:
