Scissor Sisters – Comfortably Numb – Pink Floyd Cover

There’s a rumor going around that you have to wear vests without a shirt underneath in order to enjoy the Scissor Sisters. Well, that’s only true on Friday nights. During the rest of the week, we can all enjoy this disco dance sensation.

This cover of Pink Floyd’s Comfortably Numb helped put them on the map, along with the jam Take Your Mama which was featured in Fifa 2007.

The Scissor Sisters are from New York City originally, but seeing as that almost noone in the US knows that they exists, they spend most of their time overseas. They have been especially big in the UK, where their single ‘I Don’t Feel Like Dancing’ was a top 40 single for 27 weeks. Not too shabby.

Two of the three original members, Jake Shears and Ana Matronic, met at a Halloween party, where they were dressed as a Late Term Back Alley Abortion and an Andy Warhol Factory Reject respectively. Sounds like quite the shindig.

So are the members of the Scissor Sisters gay? Well, the band’s name comes from a girl-centric sexual pose, so… no. Though Jake Shears once worked at a strip club called IC-Guyz, so… yea.

finding this track to put on for pregame is about as crucial to the night’s success as calling your guy.
