Kind of like the American equivalent to the UK’s The Cribs, The Black Lips channel adolescent, er late teen anxiety into every moment of their songs, including Feels Alright.

They formed in 2000 as teenagers, then just before leaving for their first tour following their first 7 inch, band member Ben Eberbaugh was killed by a drunk driver driving the wrong way through a tollbooth. They rebounded, recruiting a replacement for Ben, and have since released four albums.

Self described as ‘flower punk’ their shows could be even uglier than a Dirty Pretty Things show, rumored to have included vomiting, urinating, band members kissing, fireworks, and a chicken. Sounds like the perfect storm of rock and roll meeting Fourth of July…in Mexico.
