Rumor has it that before every U-17 in the UK knew every word of every song recorded by Bloc Party, singer Kele Okereke emailed the guys at Franz Ferdinand, gushing about how great their show was, and the guys in Franz Ferdinand emailed him back for a demo tape. The rest is history.

Included in that history is the fifth track of their album Weekend in the City. Slow, subdued, relaxing, it picks up its pace quickly with their trademark high-energy drumming in the background. Supposedly, the guy doesn’t stop if you ever see this band live.

sidenote: ever notice that their guitarist/keyboardist is never looking at the camera? He also definitely has the diagonal bangs haircut thing down.
